Fewer still venture to far eastern Bhutanspan stylewith its distinctive peoples, culture and its rich natural history. The 21-day tour offers a rare insight of the entire country of Bhutan including Paro, Thimpu, Punakha, the sacred Bumthang valleys and the rarely seen Eastern Bhutan. After exploring the Paro and Thimpu’s craft centers dzongs, and over the Dochu La to top at Bhutan’s ancient capital of Punakha whYere the great Punakha Dzong stands at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mho Cho Rivers. Contining westwards we visit the alpine the alpine valley of Bhobjika where we will visit the Gangtey Gompa and then on to Trongsa and then to Jakar, Bumthang’s main village. This is Bhutan’s most sacred valleys, hallowed 1,200 years ago by the visits of Padmashambava the great Buddhist guru also knows as the Guru Rimpoche.
DAY 01: Arrival at PARO-THIMPHU
Upon Arrival at PARO Airport, meet, assist and drive to Thimphu the capital of Bhutan through terraced fields along the river bangs down stream to its confluence with Wang Chu then up valley to Thimphu. Overnight in hotel
DAY 02: THIMPHU – SIGHTSEEING
Morning visit Memorial Chorten, and drive to see Takin (Bhutan’s national animal) penned up there between the pine trees. After lunch visit Jungsi Paper factory, Nunnery Monastery, Arts and Crafts School. After this, your hotel will welcome you for dinner.
DAY 03: THIMPHU – PUNAKHA – WANGDI – THIMPHU
Drive to Punakha over the Do-Chula pass which is at an altitude of 3,050meters (10,000ft) and on the way you will see more of the beautiful scenery Bhutan has to offer. Once at Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, and settle down for the lunch. After lunch visit Wangdi Dzong from the outside and drive to Thimphu. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 04: THIMPHU – PARO
Morning, drive to Paro. On the way visit Simtokha Dzong (the oldest Dzong in Bhutan) and today it is a house of the traditional school. Continue drive to Paro. Afternoon, visit National Museum, Paro Dzong and Satsam Chorten Monastery. Overnight in hotel.
DAY 05: PARO – DEPARTURE
At an appointed time, transfer to airport for flight to onward destination.
