A newly explored trek in Lumba Sumba Trekking destination begins with an entry to Kanchenjunga conservation Area of Eastern Himalaya to the  Makalu Barun National Park offering vast biological diversities. The trekking trail is not only for spectacular Himalayan landscapes, different ethnic groups like the Tamangs, Gurungs, Rais, Limbus, Magars, Newars and their vibrant cultural aspects but also the majestic view of Lumba Sumba Peak (5200m), numbers of mountain lakes that attract visitors inspire them to keep a while in Nepal and Tibet border. The trek begins from Phoomling, where we arrive after a 7 hour drive from Bhadrapur. We start trekking from Phoomling and passes through diverse ethnic groups, cultivated land and animal farms along the Lumba Sumba pass trek.

Lumba Sumba trekking peak’s major attraction

Trekkers can explore the traditional farming practices and see different birds and wildlife species, including the endangered snow leopard and red panda, from the route. There are a number of high mountain lakes in Olangchung Gola. Through the route, one can also trek to the base camps of Mt Kanchanjunga and Mt Makalu. Similarly, the Tamor and Arun River systems can be the other attraction for tourists.

The route encompasses alpine grass lands, rocky outcrops, dense temperate and sub-tropical forests, and low river valleys. Apart from natural beauty, trekkers can also explore cultural heritage like monasteries, chhortens, temples and prayer walls. And to add to the flavor, the festivals of all of these people living in harmony only serve to make the native culture livelier.
