Day 01 Arrive Kathmandu
Arrive Kathmandu at the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport with flower garlands and transfer to hotel by private car/van/coach to hotel.
Evening:Gala Nepali dinner with local drinks and cultural folk dances.
Day 02 Kathmandu Sightseeing.
Sightseeing tour with an english speaking guide of Kathmandu city,also called ‘Kantipur’ or city of Glory,visiting ‘KUMARI’ the LIVING ODDESS,Kasthamandap,the Big Bell,Kal Bhairab etc.We also visit’Swayambunath Temple,a Buddhist Stupa,set high on a hillock with a commanding view of the Kathmandu valley.
Lunch on your own and can be had at one of the many good standard restaurants around town. Our guide will recommend the same.
After lunch we visit Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath Stupa.Bouddhanath Stupa lies about six km to the east of downtown Kathmandu and is the largest stupa in the Valley. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design. Bouddhanath, a World Heritage Site, is also known as Khasti, or dew drops, after an account that builders had to use dew to mix the mortar as Kathmandu was suffering from a severe drought during its construction.
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world.The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga, or phallic symbol,of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati river flowing beside the temple, also a World Heritage Site.
Day 03 Drive to Chitwan National Park
Early breakfast at hotel. At 0700 hrs we proceed by surface (4 to 5 hours) to CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK. This is a wildlife reserve, one of the best managed and preserved, in Asia, where many species of rare wildlife, including the rare one horned rhino, up to four species of deer, sloth bear, leopard, Royal Bengal Tiger etc reside. Plus this is also the home for more than 400 species of exotic birdlife. During the two nights stay here, we undertake, jungle safaris, elephant rides, nature walks, canoe rides etc. We also witness the local Tharu stick dance in the evening.
On reaching resort, our guest relations officer will brief guests about the activities in the Park.
1:00 p.m.: Lunch.
3:30 p.m.: Jungle Walk / Nature walk with Boat ride.
8:00 p.m.: Dinner.
Day 04 Chitwan Jungle activities
6:00 a.m.: Wake up call followed by tea/coffee.
6:30 a.m.: Bird watching / Jungle walk.
8:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
9:30 a.m.: Crocodile walk. A 45 minutes walk through grassland and forest upstream
of the Narayani river. Board boats to observe crocodiles along the banks while floating back to the camp.
1:00 p.m.: Lunch.
3:30 p.m.: Jungle Walk / Visit Observation Tower/Nature Walk with Boat Ride.
8:00 p.m.: Dinner.
Day 05 Drive to Pokhara
5:30 a.m.: Wake up call followed by tea/coffee.
6:00 p.m.: Bird Watching / Jungle Walk.
8:00 AM.: Breakfast.
9:30 AM.: Departure.
After breakfast, we drive for about four hours, to the picturesque, valley of POKHARA. Pokhara (population 395,000) is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the fish-tailed summit of Machhapuchhre (6,977 m) rising behind it create an ambiance of peace and magic. At an elevation lower than Kathmandu, it has a much more tropical feel to it, a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diversity of flowers which prosper in its environs. Indeed, the valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forests, gushing rivers, emerald lakes and of course, the world famous views of the Himalaya.
Pokhara is part of a once vibrant trade route extending between India and Tibet. To this day, mule trains can be seen camped on the outskirts of the town, bringing goods to trade from remote regions of the Himalaya. This is the land of the Magars and Gurungs, hardworking farmers and valorous warriors who have earned worldwide fame as Gurkha soldiers. The Thakalis, another important ethnic group here, are known for their entrepreneurship.
Arrive Pokhara and check in at the hotel.
We walk Lakeside.Lakeside is a popular tourist destination beside Phewa Tal (lake) in Nepal’s second largest city Pokhara.Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 Pokhara Sightseeing Tour
Breakfast. We explore the old trading town of Pokhara where decorated pony trains from the Kali Gandaki trade routes jostle with men from the mountains bartering in the bazaar. Visit the Bindhyavasini Temple and the fascinating Butterfly Museum located in the grounds of the university. In the late afternoon enjoy a boat trip on Phewa Lake passing the simple three-story villa where the King of Nepal maintains his winter home. Stop at the small golden temple to the Hindu god Varahi which is nestled in foliage on an island in the centre of the lake. In the afternoon many fishermen and other pilgrims take their long canoes, carved from tree trunks, to the island to visit the shrine.
Day 07 Sarangkot Sunrise Tour & Drive back to Kathmandu
Early morning we drive to Sarangkot for sunrise tour.Sarangkot is the most popular tourist destination from where the tourist can enjoy the great view of the Pokhara Valley and the magnificent view of the mountains. Sarangkot is only 5 km from Lake Side, Pokhara. Sarangkot is the highest view point for a sunrise and it is just 1592m high. Sarangkot is 5 degrees cooler than Pokhara. Sarangkot can be reached easily by 45 minutes by a car ride to the top from Pokhara Paragliding can also be done from Sarangkot. From Sarangkot, on the northern direction we can see Dhaulagiri in the far west. Annapurna range is visible when the weather is clear on the same side. On the southern direction the village.
Later we drive back to hotel for breakfast.We back to Kathmandu(5-6 hours).There is also the option of flying Pokhara-Kathmandu (25 minutes) at extra cost. Overnight at the hotel..
