Annapurna Mardi Himal Trek is short and easy trek on a snowcapped peaks and high base camp on the Annapurna Range similar to ghorepani poonhill trekking. Mardi Himal base camp trekking is a new trekking trail around the periphery of the Annapurna Mountain range. This is a combination of cultural heritage and a easy peak climbing experience. It is a newly explored Eco trekking in the Annapurna region. This trek is ideal for those people who want to trek in the off the beaten trails with no tourist around. This is yet to be explored virgin trekking trail in Nepal. This is also referred as the shortest trip to the base camp of Mardi Himal, in the Annapurna Mountain range.
The Annapurna Mardi Himal Trek is often referred to as the Ghorepani Poonhill trek or the Sunrise Trek with its high and low base camp destination for best views of Annapurna range. The whole short and easy trek goes through some easy terrain so your physical conditions are not very important unlike other high altitude treks. The trail goes through settlements of different ethnic groups, paddy fields and some lovely streams. The trial also offers magnificent view of the mountains such as fishtail, Annapurna, Annapurna South and many more in the Annapurna range. This is a moderate trek where you see much more than doing a challenging trek.
As the name itself suggests, the Annapurna Mardi Himal Trek is an Annapurna View Point Trek that amidst the Annapurna Mountain Range in Central Nepal. Day 03: Trek to Tikhedhunga/Ulleri ( 1950m) 4/5 Hrs

The trek starts from Nayapul which is 45 minutes drive from Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna Region. After reaching Nayapul we start walking amidst the sub-tropical valley forests filled with a variety of vegetation. Sometimes we will have to make our way through the carved trail on the edge of a cliff. After walking past Tikhedhunga we will reach the base of the hill that leads us to our first stop for the night i.e. Ulleri. We need to climb nearly 3500 steps up the hill to reach this beautiful village.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2875m) 6/7 Hrs

After breakfast, we start our walk along the road that leads to the famed Rhodendrons forest of Ghorepani from where you can also have a glimpse of the Annapurna South that is hidden slightly by a ridge. We walk past tiny villages of Banthanti and Nangethanti to reach Ghorepani. The majority of population in Ghorepani belongs to the Poon Magar community and like I said earlier it is also home to the largest variety of the beautiful flower named Rhododendron.

Day 05: Trek to Poon Hill (3210m) - Tadapani (2630m) 7 Hrs

Early morning we will hike for 45 minutes to reach Poonhill (3210m) which would give us the view of a magnificent new sun rising over the Manaslu range. After breakfast we leave behind Ghorepani and pass through the colorful lush rhododendron forest on the stone paved trails for nearly an hour to reach Gurung Hill, which is at the similar height of Poon Hill where we can see the awe inspiring view of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Dhampus Peak with surrounding peaks. From here we continue to descend to Banthanti, which is at the ridges of the rivers and mountains. Furthermore, we will walk about 1 and half hour zig zag road sometimes ascending and sometimes descending to reach Tadapani, our final destination for a day. From Tadapani, we can see the mesmerizing view of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and other small peaks. Our day starts after the warm breakfast served at the forest camp. Although the walk today is not very long but since it is steep and in some places difficult to climb we will take our time and try to reach the high camp by the late afternoon. Going slow and steady helps to do the trek with more enjoyment.

Day 09: Trek to the Base Camp (4500m) & return to High Camp. 5 Hrs

Today is the most exciting day of the trip as we are climbing up to the base camp of Mardi Himal. This is the main highlight of the trip. We start the day after a early breakfast and start climbing up. This is also the most challenging part of the trek as the trail is small and difficult to walk in some places. After spending some time at the much awaited base camp of the Mardi Himal we descent down to the high camp. Altogether it takes about 7 hours for the whole trip today.
