Our Annapurna Base camp trek begins with our journey to Pokhara and then a drive to Birethanti. Sweating, blowing out air and absorbing the beautiful landscapes of the Annapurna region from mountains to hills to villages to lush forest to waterfalls, you head off to Annapurna Sanctuary trek/Annapurna Base Camp via Machapuchare Base camp.

At 4,130 meter, hikers are enclosed on four sides by exceptional snow covered summits, for example, the mighty Annapurna & its sisters Annapurna Fang, Annapurna III and Annapurna South. From here you’ll also have fascinating views of Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, Khangsar Kang and the legendary Machapuchare. On this trail we will encounter uphill trail, steel suspension bridges, less vegetation areas, dense forested areas, beautiful oak forest, and frequent bamboo forest, including the largest rhododendron forest of Nepal.

Our ABC via Machapuchare Base Camp takes your 14 days in the land of Himalayas with an easy access from Pokhara. Day 1 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, where you are welcomed by our staff outside the terminal and transfer to your hotel. Late afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour through the narrow lanes of the old city. Discover the colorful and bustling local bazars and Durbar square, the site of the ancient royal palace, full of temples and monuments.

Day 2 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Guided tour of Kathmandu valley. Boudhanath, one of the great Buddhist shrines of Nepal. Its stupa is the oldest and the largest of Nepal. You will enjoy the activity here where Tibetans, sherpas come to turn around this monument, reciting prayers and turning the prayer’s wheels.. Then, continue to Patan, the ancient royal capital also known as Lalitpur “city of fine arts ” and famous for its ancient Newari architecture. It is an open air museum full of palaces, pagodas, monasteries, temples and shrines.

Day 3 Birethanti Shiaule Bazaar (1000 m/2hrs)

Early morning we depart by private bus to Nayapul (7 hrs), along the Trisuli River. From Nayapul, we begin our easy walk from Nayapul through terraced fields.

Day 4 Gandrung (1960 m/4h30hrs)

We climb the famous Nepali steps from Shiaule Bazaar to reach the traditional Gurung village of Gandrung. Gandrung is the largest Gurung village in the region full of traditional houses with slate roofs of the old part.

Day 5 Chomrong (1960 m/6 hrs)

Long descent towards the Kiurung Khola and we cross the river on a suspension bridge. Then long climb up on stairs to Chomrong. It is the last village you’ll encounter before entering the sanctuary. You’ll be rewarded with beautiful mountains like Annapurna South, Himchuli and Machapuchare (the mystical ‘fish tail’ peak)

Day 6 Deorali (2880 m /6 hrs.)

We’ll cross the Modi Khola river and spend the day walking up through a thick bamboo and oak forest.

Day 7 Macchapuchare Base Camp (3900 m/4-5hrs)

Today you’ll experience a change of scenery with sub-alpine vegetation. The valley opens up. Tonight you spend the night at the Macchapuchare base camp surrounded by mountains.

Day 8 Annapurna base camp (4100 m) and descent to Bamboo Lodge (2400m)

Today is the big day. You will set off early to admire the sunrise at the Annapurna South base camp. Breakfast facing the Annapurna and very long and steep descent to warmer climate.

Day 9 Jhinu (1400 m / 5 hrs.)

Today, we’ll leave the sanctuary and its alpine vegetation and forest to get down to a more tropical climate.

Day 10 Landrung (1650 m /3 hrs.)

Enjoy a dip in the hot springs this morning before going to the Gurung village of Landrung.

Day 11 Dhampus (1700m/6 hrs)

Beautiful trail across terraced fields and typical Gurung villages. Some up and down hiking. We’ll celebrate our last night in the mountains, singing and dancing with our local staff .

Day 12 Phedi (1120 m/2hrs) and transfer to Pokhara (1 h)

We’ll make a steep descent to Phedi. It is a short ride to reach our hotel located nearby the lake. Free time and a night in Pokhara by the lake.. Transfer by private bus to Pokhara( 1 hrs drive) and check-in the hotel or guest house. Rest of the time free fallow by farewell dinner.


Day 13 Kathmandu (40mn)

Drive to airport and flight to Kathmandu. You will get stunning views of the Annapurna range. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to wander.


Day 14 Departure

Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
