Kailash Parikrama Mansarovar Yatra via Kerung takes you to the holy land of Mt. Kailash through the opened Nepal- Tibet border of Rasuwagadhi-Kerung. On this overland tour via Kerung, we will get ourselves inside the Langtang National Park. First, we cross the Nepal-Tibet border to arrive at Kerung. From Kerung, we will drive to the villages of Saga, Mansarovar, and Darchen with great views of the sacred Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurla-Mandala, Rakshash Lake and the Lake Mansarovar. You have a leisure day today. After breakfast, you can do preparation for your trip buying or hiring anything necessary things from the shop in Thamel or other markets. Also, you will have a half-day city tour to Budhanilkantha Temple & The Monkey Temple. And we will manage Tibet group visas from the Chinese Embassy.
Begin your today’s exploration from Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and discover Bhaktapur Durbar Square, one of the seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu Valley.
From this day we will start Kailash Parikrama Mansarovar Yatra. Early morning drive to Rasuwa Gadi, the drive will take about 7 – 8 hours. Drives offer view of terraced fields, river and rustic villages of Nepal before we enter Langtang National Park Area.
We spend a rest day at Kyirong today in order to acclimatize before heading up higher. After breakfast walk the nearby village.
Today we drive approx 169 km, 6 to 7 hours to Saga. It is driving via high passes with panoramic Mountain View On the way we stop at a huge lake called Peiku-tso crossing high pass.
From Saga, we set out across the plains to Manasarovar located just 30km south of Mt Kailash. The lake is separated from another lake, Rakshas Tal, the myth has it here Ravana prayed and had the audience with Shiva.
It is a day to explore around and to be ready for Kailash Kora. We almost spend half a day at lake Mansarovar. Deep into the Lake, Take a holy bath, hike to Tsui Monastery or visit natural hot spring those are near the Lake. Drive to Darchen for Lunch, Dinner, and Overnight.
Drive about 13 km to Tarboche, this is the starting point for our Kora. From Tarboche, we walk up the Lha Chu Valley through beautiful green meadows and streams with Mt Kailash towering above us.
We now leave the Lha Chu Valley and enter the Dolma Chu Valley, heading up towards a high pass, the Dolma La (5650m). It’s a tough climb to the summit which is festooned with prayer flags but from there it is all downhill or flat to Zutul-puk.
On the final day of the Kailash Parikrama Mansarovar Yatra, we cross several streams. We then enter the Bharka plain and it’s about an hour’s walk through this desert-like landscape to Darchen. We board the car waiting at Darchen to Saga.
The morning after breakfast drive to Gyirong.
After breakfast, Drive 24 km approximately 1 hour downhill to reach Chinese immigration (Rasuwa Gadi bridge) after the immigration process we walk through Bridge where a vehicle from Nepal side will be waiting. The final transfer of the tour to reach Kathmandu.
